The process of planning out a new greenhouse is almost as big of a job as building the structure itself. There are so many questions to answer! How big should your greenhouse be? What is the right location? What type of greenhouse is right for you? Will you build your own structure from scratch, or will you purchase a ready to assemble greenhouse kit? The planning stage alone can take several months, plus the additional time and sweat work of actually building the greenhouse.
But once all this is done, then the real fun can begin! So once you’ve got your greenhouse built, what is the next step? How do you set up your greenhouse and get ready to begin greenhouse gardening?
Determining the types of plants you want to grow is usually the first step. Are you growing tropical plants that will have to remain in the greenhouse year round? Or are you starting plants from seed early in the spring, with the intent of moving them outdoors when the weather warms up? The types of plants you grow will have an impact on how you set your greenhouse up, including the type of shelving and work spaces you will need.
When purchasing shelving and work benches for your greenhouse, look for fixtures that can fit right into the greenhouse itself. For example, if you’ve bought a greenhouse kit, you may also be able to purchase shelves that snap right into the greenhouse walls. This type of shelving is a good choice because it saves space and is usually easy to install. For a work bench or potting surface, look for something sturdy and durable. A slatted surface is nice because soil can fall through the cracks and onto the ground, or into a collection bin you place below. On the other hand, a smooth surface makes for easy cleanup.
Once you’ve got your shelving and work surfaces in place, it’s time to begin greenhouse gardening! Soil preparation is a very important first step in this process. Visit your local garden center and talk to a professional about what type of soil you need. Different plants will require different soil pH levels, and tester kits can be purchased inexpensively at garden stores. Usually, a good bet is to purchase a commercial potting soil mix to build your base up in the gardening trenches of your new green house. This is an excellent way to get started, because the soil mix will be rich in nutrients that your plants need. Be sure your new soil mixture includes sand, peat moss, perlite, vermiculite, and fir bark for adequate drainage.
Another possibility for getting good soil is to begin your own composting system. Garden composters and tumbling bins can be found through mail order catalogs or online stores, and they will produce the richest, most fertile soil you can imagine, and your plants will grow better than they ever have before.
Soil should be watered only on an as-needed basis. Over watering inside a greenhouse may cause plant death due to the climate control system inside the greenhouse. Drip irrigation systems are good, but most greenhouse owners prefer to water plants manually to prevent getting too much water in the soil. Water only when the soil feels dry. If you are going to be out of town for a few days, document your watering habits for a week or so before hand. This way, if you ask a friend or neighbor to water for you in your absence, you’ll be able to tell them exactly how often they’ll need to water.
Greenhouse gardening is a wonderful hobby and a great way to improve your gardening skills. Once the hard work of planning and assembling the greenhouse is done, you’ll be rewarded with years of enjoyment spent in your greenhouse. Plus you’ll have bigger and better plants to show for your efforts. Happy greenhouse gardening!

Can someone tell me where I can find Chrome Wire Shelving for a store that will sell foods?
Find a food equipment supply store, in Hull they can get you what you’re looking for.
Quality retail shelving offers store owners a better chance at making a great first impression. It does not have to cost a lot of money. Just a reasonable investment in sturdy, colorful retail shelves will immediately differentiate a store from its competition. New retail shelving places the most expensive and sought after items in the best possible spotlight. Special displays for Christmas and after Christmas sales events have a much better chance of attracting the eye than standard shelving typically offers. Adjustability, decorative appeal, and space management ability differentiate Easy Rack retail shelves from inferior, generic racks and displays. Because each unit can be adjusted as a standalone piece or used in combination with other units, more can be done with less.
Different types of retail shelving do different things for store owners looking to increase sales. Double-sided retail shelves are made to run parallel to one another and create shopping aisles between the merchandise. Because these units are made with a solid-piece construction, they are very easy to move and rearrange in different directions. This is often done in grocery stores, where certain aisles containing supplements and over the counter medication are arranged perpendicular to food aisles.
Single-sided retail shelving is used to create displays along walls and to stand at the end of aisle shelving as end caps. End caps are extremely important to Christmas sales because they place the hottest items right in the customers’ line of sight. Almost every larger store has wall space that is going to waste, and almost every gas station and convenience store has either an empty corner or a space between the lotto stand and ATM. Both wall shelving and aisle shelving units measure 48″ from side to side. This is the key to fitting individual units into these types of tight spots.
Adjustable retail shelving is the key to more attractive displays. If all the shelves on a retail display rack are set to identical depths, top shelves will block light attempting to reach the lower shelves. This makes it hard for customers to read labels and notice the features of various products. On the other hand, varying the depth of higher and lower shelves allows light to be distributed throughout the display rack. Also, the ability to move shelves either up or down allows for retail displays to be customized to the size of products themselves. Because each shelf can support up to 350 pounds of weight, virtually any product can be placed at any height for greater visual impact.
The right kind of retail shelves can be a key component of loss prevention. Many store owners make the mistake of buying the tallest display shelving available. They believe this gives them more room to merchandise a greater amount of inventory. Unfortunately, retail shelving that is more than 84″ tall is likely to block visibility essential to loss prevention monitoring. Even cameras cannot see over shelving that is too tall.
In our experience, 72″-84″ display racks are the tallest units that any store should invest in. 72″ or less is better for gas stations and convenience stores that have extremely limited space. Smaller shelving is also recommended for gift shops and accessories stores. This allows employees to watch customers either directly or with security mirrors, and makes it easier to conceal cameras at unique angles to ensure customer honesty at all times.

My husband and I own a business, and my husband drives a cube van that really needs some organization - drawers, shelving, flooring. Does anyone know a good company in the US that sells rugged accessories like this?
here you go, I Googled for "van shelving" and found a bunch

Moms….what do you think of this article? Can you relate?
http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/life/dear-whoever-makes-those-cleaning-product-commercials-youre-doing-it-wrong-515559/
Here is an exerpt:
"A woman, in a glass cage filled with already-clean kitchen appliances and cabinets, quips that she doesn’t have time to clean because she has to go pick up her kids, but is able to wipe up a few smudges and smears without having to use several different cleaners. After she’s done, the place looks exactly the same, but she looks tired and relieved.
I don’t know about you, but my housework workload would not be significantly reduced by not having to switch cleaning products while dusting my bookshelves. For one thing, my bookshelves are too cluttered for me to see the actual shelving and, for another, who’s going to scrutinize my bookshelves besides my mom, who gave up on my cleaning decades ago?
I guess I just don’t relate to these commercials. Who are these women? I do not have snow-white carpets throughout my home and, if I did, I would not smile and sigh ruefully when my child spills a glass of grape juice upon it, because who lets their preschoolers wander through the house with open, breakable glasses of anything, let alone something that stains?"
LOL I enjoyed that article, Thank you for sharing it.
To answer your question: I just finished doing a load of laundry, yet to be folded, and finally cleaned the kitchen that hadn’t been cleaned since Monday as my wonderful 13yo daughter brought me home a nice cold that put me out of commission most of Monday and all of yesterday. I was amazed at just how messy my apt gets when I go just ONE day without picking up and cleaning the kitchen. I only have 2 kids, my husband isn’t even home right now. And I try my hardest to make my girls pick up after themselves. But the kitchen, oh lord the kitchen.. I really do hate the kitchen. My 3yo is of no help yet and my 13yo moans and groans when I tell her to put away the dishes. To which I end up doing half the time anyway cuz I don’t want to wait til 5pm when she finally gets home. So after just a day and a half of not cleaning the kitchen it was a complete mess from floor to stove top to the sink full of dishes spewing out onto the counter tops. I couldn’t take it anymore so with red nose running, wiping it when I had to on my sleeve, I cleaned my god forsaken kitchen!
And as a reminder… as my mother once wisely told me… the dishes and laundry can wait, but your kids won’t always want to play or cuddle with you.
Calgon… take me away!!
We read that ‘Gerry and Kate McCann have thanked Ben Affleck for postponing the release of his new movie about an abducted child, called ‘Gone Baby Gone’
Ben Affleck insisted at the time that he did not want to "inflame anybody’s sensitivities" by releasing the film, saying: "We are acutely aware of the situation surrounding Madeleine McCann. The movie is just a commercial matter, whereas this is a matter of life and death"
But since film is an artform, and many of us are against the censorship, or even self censorship of the arts, do you believe this film should have been shown regardless ? was the decision really that Affleck did not want to "inflame anybody’s sensitivities", or is it more base, that he feared the movie would bomb commercially particularly in the UK ?

Tabbyfur - no I dont live with ‘Puddy’, she lives with ‘Tom tom’
im shocked by this, but ONLY if it really was because of the Mccanns, remember that there may be an impending trial, for all we know, the police or whoever, may have put pressure on him to delay it, in case of people getting confused thinking its a documentary (yes some people are that dim),,, OR the mccanns claiming that due to the film being released, the trial would be prejudiced.
I have contacted the senators from every state that was considering a yes vote. I guess a lot of you did too.
It gives me a swelling of pride…kind of like "Bob" in the Enzyte commercial!
Shanelladd,
Richardson win? That’s hilarious! Everyone knows he plays for the other team.
It has been shelved at the moment but I would not be surprised to see it appear again with some more modifications.
I would think just the military part would be able to pass, it would make for legal immigration to be very interesting if it did.
Can Stern and commercial free radio make enough of a difference to pull a stock from the gutter to the upper shelve?
The real question is if the Government will allow XM and Sirius to merge. If so, then this stock could fly.. Right now though, I would not be in this stock.. Ugly chart, really.. It just broke some recent support and next support is around the 2.00 dollar level.
Unless you are shorting, there is currently no reason to be in this stock long at all.
Sorry
